My Air
Conditioning Service Company has suggested
a "Two Stage" unit, with a "Variable
Speed" blower.
What are they talking about, and how can it help
me?
My home has
several rooms that always seem to be uncomfortable,
and my HVAC
Contractor has suggested a "Zoning System".
What is a Zoning System?
Q: What does "HVAC" mean?
A:
|
HVAC is an acronym for “Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning”, and is
generally used to describe products and services related to air
conditioning and heating systems. |
Q: What is a "S.E.E.R." Rating?
A:
|
S.E.E.R. stands for “Seasonal Energy
Efficiency Ratio”, and is an industry standard for rating the amount of
cooling produced for the amount of energy consumed. The higher the S.E.E.R.
Rating, the more efficient the unit is.

Q: What is I.A.Q.?
A:
|
IAQ is an acronym for “Indoor Air
Quality”. In recent years, IAQ issues have moved to the forefront due to
increasing health concerns ….many of which are controllable by home
comfort systems. |
Q: My
Air Conditioning Service Company has suggested a "Two Stage" unit,
with a "Variable Speed" blower.
What are they talking about, and how can it help me?
|
A: |
Two Stage can
refer to either the cooling or heating segments (or both) of your home
comfort system. Air Conditioning and Heating Systems are generally sized
to handle heating and cooling loads under the average worst case
conditions…thusly, the system is oversized for much of the heating and
cooling seasons. A “Two Stage” system is designed to use just the right
amount of capacity to heat or cool your home without wasting energy. In
addition, this measured approach to heating and cooling does more than
conserving energy and saving money….Two Stage comfort conditioning will
ALWAYS provide much more comfortable living conditions by closer
temperature control, and critical maintenance of humidity levels.
Variable Speed Blowers use ECM Technology to consume
approximately 1/10 of the energy of conventional blower motors. In
addition, Variable Speed Blowers can be used to optimize temperature AND
humidity levels, as well as provide much quieter operation than standard
systems. |
Q: What is a Zoning System?
A:
|
Zoning is a simple solution to a
complex problem. Simply put, zoning shifts the capacity of your heating
and cooling system to the areas of your home that need it, and when they
need it. This process vastly increases comfort, and saves energy by
reducing overall run time |
